Student and Community Life

Trinity Lutheran Classical families can expect a cohesive community life with plenty of opportunities to engage in worship and fellowship. Just as our Divine Service contains two crescendos (the reading of the Gospel where we learn what our Lord has done for us and the reception of the Lord’s Supper where we truly receive Him) so also will our school have two focal points. Our library corresponds to the reading of the Gospel in that it is where we learn about how God has worked in human history. Our library is well stocked and books can be checked out by students and their families for both academic and personal use. We have a sitting area for reading, a conference table for working, and even a chess area for students to engage each other in friendly matches.

Faith: Our school day will begin with Matins each morning in our sanctuary. Just as the library corresponds to the reading of the Gospel, the sanctuary corresponds to the reception of our Lord in the Lord’s Supper. We gather as a family to hear God’s word read and proclaimed, to respond to His good and gracious gifts with our songs of thanks and praise. The sanctuary is the foundation and the focal point of all that we do at Trinity Lutheran Classical High School. Families are encouraged, if possible, to stay for our Matins services each day. Trinity Lutheran Church also celebrates numerous church feast and festival days throughout the church year, of which our school families are encouraged to participate in for the edification of their faith.

Sports and Extra-Curricular Activities: Students will have the opportunity to participate in sports and extra-curricular activities. If we have enough interest and numbers to start our own teams, we will do so, but until that happens, we will partner with Martin Luther High School in Greendale. At our student orientation, we will gauge interest in clubs (such as debate, chess, robotics, forensics, Math, drama, ballroom dancing, yearbook, photography, etc.), service organizations (Pro-life club, Faith-in-action, conservation, etc.), and Music (Schola Choir, band, etc.), and plan which we will participate in next year. As Trinity Lutheran Classical grows, we will participate in a house program where older students will be partnered with younger students. The houses will compete in a point system and a house cup awarded each year. More information will be forthcoming as our student body grows.

Parents and Families: Since most parents did not have the benefit of a classical Lutheran education, we will also host opportunities to build our parents’ knowledge by hosting reading clubs, theme nights, dances, and informational sessions. The more engaged our parents are in the academic development of our students, the greater the learning and the more enriching the student’s experience will be during their time at Trinity. A full calendar of events and opportunities will be published at student orientation each year.
