philosophy

God has created us as human beings, mind, body, and soul. These three go together and each one effects the others. When our minds suffer, our bodies and spirits suffer. When we are ailing physically, it hurts our mental and spiritual states. All three must act in concert with one another to give us a healthy and fulfilling life. While all three work in concert with one another, the spiritual is the most important and drives the other two.

At Trinity Lutheran Martial Arts Academy, we frame our study of the martial arts around the Christian faith, allowing God’s Word to frame our training. We begin and end our training with devotions and prayer. We train, not to be aggressors, but to bring our bodies under discipline, cultivate virtue, and develop character. We believe that biblical and classical virtues go hand-in-hand with the tenets of martial arts.
